Familiar Lyrics

[Jamie Madrox]
Hollow
You were hollow like a well
With no water and everyone's thirsty
Follow
Nowadays everyone's confused and distraught
And everything looks promising
Let down
Just stand on your feet
If you fall then have courage to walk again[chorus]
Tomorrow we will talk about yesterday
Right now I got nothing to say, honestly
Feel betrayed like my love was ripped outta me
The cycle; it's all too familiar to me
The cycle; it's all too familiar to me[Monoxide Child]
Lonely
Feelin' like I'm the only one running from someone
I can't seem to get away

Trapped now
Hiding from the world with eyes closed
And pretending I'm dead today
Shadows
Shadows creep across the floor
As I wait for the sun to return to me[chorus]
Tomorrow we will talk about yesterday
Right now I got nothing to say, honestly
Feel betrayed like my love was ripped outta me
The cycle; it's all too familiar to me
The cycle; it's all too familiar to meMy eyes don't see nothing but greed
Your lies, your hate, broken, thrown away
My eyes are still closed
These feeling come and go
Your lies, jealousy
These things should cease to be
My apologies when you think of me
Will you overlook all that I've come to be?
We can find a way
We can make it though
Can we shake this pain that has a hold on you?[chorus]
Tomorrow we will talk about yesterday
Right now I got nothing to say, honestly
Feel betrayed like my love was ripped outta me
The cycle; it's all too familiar to me
The cycle; it's all too familiar to meThe cycle; it's all too familiar to me
The cycle; it's all too familiar to me

After recording Oh Say Little Dogies, Why? (Keep Recordings, 2003) in the desert of New Mexico and the industrial area of Portland, Oregon, Shelley Short left art school in the Pacific Northwest and headed eastward to Chicago for no good reason. Pressed in limited quantity, Oh Say Little Dogies, Why? reached an extensive musical network, building critical momentum along the way. Seeking a richer, more complex sound for her next album, Captain Wild Horse (Rides the Heart of Tomorrow), Short began writing songs before and immediately after her move across the country.
