Felili was raised in the heartland of Texas. Dancing in Mexican Folk groups, studying the divas of MTV, listening to Nina Simone and observing the madness of massive suburban malls these unlikely seeds yielded her unique style. Singing from her earliest years, Felili studied vocal performance at the University of North Texas in Denton. After playing with bands in college, Felili began to write her own music and play guitar at 22.
