Jamaican Recording Artist/Actor Lennox Buppy (pronounced boopy) Brown was born in the Port Antonio in Jamaica, and grew up in East Kingston in the city. At a young age he inherited the passion and love for music from his father a saxophone player. With a dynamic repertoire consisting of universal reggae styles like, roots & culture with that dancehall edge, gospel, lover's rock, jungle, dance, house pop and calypso. A unique artist, he is gifted musically and spiritually, real with loving vibes of unity.
Buppy records in his homeland Jamaica on solo projects and collaborating with artists like Beenie Man, Mr. Peppa, Oba Simba, and G Blunt, as well as annual events like Guinness Sting in Jamaica and The Dennis Brown tribute Prince of Reggae.
Performing solo and with Buppy & The Uplifters Reggae Band, his rapid-fire lyrics, stage presence and infectious reggae style captivate audiences in Jamaica, the Caribbean, Africa, United States, Europe and to all ends of the earth. Buppy’s loyal fan base continues to grow throughout the world. With vocals in high demand Buppy recently collaborated on the EP JamRow with the European based selectors Zuza Boys. While his collaboration with Costi Ionita and Andrea Teodorova for the “Sahara” European project in Romania leading to the song Tyalee making it to the #1 spot in first week of release in Bulgaria and the European Dance Charts.
Songs from his earlier solo albums “Bupatak” and “Universal Reggae Menu Vol.1”, were snapped up and can be heard in major motion pictures such as The Fan (starring Robert DeNiro), S.W.A.T. (starring Samuel L. Jackson), Enemy Of The State (starring Will Smith), Domino (starring Keira Knightly), Hard Luck (Starring Mario Van Peebles & Wesley Snipes). Buppy’s music is also on the soundtrack of Blade 2 (starring Wesley Snipes), as well as Tha Eastsidaz (starring Snoop Dog) & HBO Released A State Of Mind, just to name a few.
In Hollywood and Southern California Buppy consistently captures audiences in the hottest nightspots, while giving back with musical performances for charities like Best Buddies of California for the deaf and disabled, Cuts for Kids for Big Brothers, and A Taste of the Nation benefit for the homeless at Universal Studios.
As an actor Buppy has worked as a personal Stand-In & photo double for the actor Wesley Snipes in many of his films. Working also as Stand-In for other actors like Danny Glover, Don Cheadle, Samuel Jackson, Forrest Whitaker, Dule Hill, Laz Alonso, Daryl Chill Mitchell and many more actors in the business. You can see Buppy’s appearance on TV, Stage and in Films including The Wayans Brothers, The Edge, ER & Numbers to name a few TV shows and can be seen in films like Crimson Tide, For The Boys, Blade 1 & 2, US Marshal, 15 Minutes and many more.
