Fellow Hoodlums Lyrics

On the night, Maxton died
I fell over Clyde was full of old tyres
The wind nearly pulled my breeches off
Ann Kelly, she kissed my mouthFellow hoodlums and engineers
The Union south, we're all here
I'm going up Buchanan Street
With a box of fireworks and two bottles of TizerThe last train from St. Enoch
I saw the graveyard, it looked like our old street
People were cheering all the way from Hampden
With macaroons and scarves and rattlesFellow hoodlums and engineers
The Union south, we're all here
I'm going up Buchanan Street
With a box of fireworks and two bottles of TizerBilly's a butcher now always has been
And he picks his teeth with old rusty meat hooks
And he sends his beef with the bike boys
Monday to Saturday, Patrick to CowcaddensFellow hoodlums and engineers
The Union south, we're all here
I'm going up Buchanan Street

With a box of fireworks and two bottles of TizerI'm going up Buchanan Street
With a box of fireworks
And two bottles of Tizer

Deacon Blue is a Scottish pop band formed in Glasgow in 1985. Their name came from the title of the Steely Dan song "Deacon Blues". Success came for the band in 1989 when their second studio album, When The World Knows Your Name, topped the UK Album Charts. The album included "Real Gone Kid" which became their first UK top ten single. After releasing further albums in 1991 and 1993, they split up in 1994. Five years later, in 1999, the band held a reunion gig and this led to the album, Walking Back Home. Since then they have released Homesick (2001) and The Hipsters (2012).
