Final Days Lyrics

Well, I walk through this world livin' day to day
I see the people, hear what they have to say
Take a look at the ethics, morals, and goals
Makin' Gods outta men that rock and rollLike Sodom and Gomorrah, this world will fall
A total destruction, destiny of all
Who have mocked the name of Jesus, the Savior and Lord
In the battle of Armageddon and a two edged swordSatan in a day he will never forget
When the King hurls him into a bottomless pit
So keep your eyes on the Lord, don't follow human ways
'Cause it's written in the word, these are the final daysFinal days
Change your ways
Final daysThe final days is what my song's about
Words so intense I might have to shout
Some might play hard and say, I'm wack
But I'm talkin' about truth not egomaniacAnd as long as they listen, they won't be dissin'
'Cause rappin' final days is a serious mission
Just so they learn, I will stand stern
I hope my words make ya start to churnI'm concerned with the life that you're livin' now

Your's ego's so bad that ya can't even bow
To the Master of all, Creator of creation
I'm talkin' 'bout God, no misinterpretationRappin' hard for the one who deserves the best
Speakin' rhymes that will try and put your heart to test
Don't stop and stare me down with that b-boy haze
Get busy, 'cause these are the final daysFinal days
Change your ways
Final daysThe words of my rap are not what you think
But so secure, I suggest you take 'em to the bank
Or better yet take these words to heart
Don't wait until tomorrow, now's the time to startI'm not askin' for your money or rappin' for a fee
Think upon the words is my only plea
'Cause this song's about to end, your time is runnin' thin
And now that my time is up, it's time for you to beginTo do this job is my only request
A basic rap exam puts MC's to test
Spread these words like a fire ablaze
'Cause I'm tellin' ya we're livin' in the final daysFinal days
Change your ways
Final days

dc Talk is made up of Toby McKeehan (TobyMac), Michael Tait, and Kevin Max.

The three met while they were young men at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. They formed the band dc Talk (a reference to Washington D.C., but later marketed as 'decent Christian talk' by their label) and, as of the year 2000, spent twelve solid years together, performing all over the world, recording 6 albums, and earning many awards, including 4 Grammy awards.

Their music, aimed at a younger audience, combined hip-hop, rap, and R&B sensibilities and filled a gap in 1980s Christian Music and gave them a unique niche. Their first three albums, dc Talk, Nu Thang, and Free At Last started from their rap/hip-hop roots but increasingly included melodic vocal rock influences. Their 1995 studio album, Jesus Freak, continued this musical evolution by eshewing almost all rap elements and adopting a harder modern rock/grunge sound on many songs, especially the title track. Their most recent studio album, Supernatural, draws on their previous efforts while moving towards mainstream pop stylings.

Their signature sound in all albums is their use of the three members' different vocal skills separately and together. They are often lauded for their lyrical sophistication, addressing many themes in Christian theology, faith, and practice.

After more than ten years together as a group, they are taking a break in recording together to pursue their own activities outside of the band, and launch solo careers in recording music. Michael Tait formed his own band, Tait, and has most recently served as the frontman for Newsboys. Toby McKeehan has released music under the name TobyMac, and has been the most sucessful of the three. Kevin Max has released two solo albums of his own.
