First Time Lyrics

Let's go
Yeah, your memories are tooBehind every closed door lies another room
Waitin' there for you
Should I open the Pandoras letter box
Like she wanted me toOutside the time and space we share
E always equals MC squared
Dont you know?Nothin' ever tastes quite as good
Quite as sweet
As it does the first time
Yeah, the first time
Nothin' ever felt quite as bad
Quite as sad
As it did the last timeBuilding castles on quicksand
Wearin' in all the Emperors new clothes
Reachin' down through the lookin' glass
Where am I on the yellow brick road?Always endin' where I began
Adam left Eve the original sin
Dont you know?Nothin' ever tastes quite as good

Quite as sweet
As it does the first time
Yeah, the first time
Nothin' ever felt quite as bad
Quite as sad
As it did the last timeLaw of diminishin' returns
Will I live long enough to learn?
Dont you know?
I dont think you know
I dont think you knowI know, I know what I said
I know, I know what I said the first time
Yes the first time
I hope that God this wont be
I hope that God this aint the last time
It feels like the firstNothin' ever tastes quite as good
Quite as sweet
As it does the first time
Yeah, the first time
Nothin' ever feels quite as bad
Quite as sad
As it did the last timeNothin' tastes that good
Nothin' ever tastes that good
Nothin' ever tastes that good
Nothin' tastes like it should
Dont you know?Nothin' ever cuts quite as deep
Quite as sweet
As it does the first time
Yeah, the first time
Nothin' ever hurts quite as much
As a touch left by the last time
The first time
The first timeI want the last time to be like like
The first time
Well you know
Nothin' ever tastes that good
Nothin' ever tastes that good
That good

Billie Myers (born 14 June 1971, Coventry, UK) is an English rock singer-songwriter. She is known principally for her 1998 transatlantic hit, "Kiss The Rain" (co-written with Eric Bazilian and Desmond Child). Possessing both the introspective nature of Tracy Chapman and the unbridled spunk of Chrissie Hynde, Myers excels at weaving poetic narratives around starkly honest portraits of her life experiences “reassuringly long on singer-songwriting talent” (The London times).
