Flood Lyrics

Rain, rain on my face
Hasn't stopped raining for days
My world is a flood
Slowly I become one with the mud
But if I can't swim after forty days
And my mind is crushed by the crashing waves
Lift me up so high that I cannot fall
Lift me up well
Lift me up when I'm falling
Lift me up, I'm weak and I'm dying
Lift me up, I need You to hold me
Lift me up, keep me from drowning again
Downpour on my soul
Splashing in the ocean, I'm losing control
Dark sky all around
Can't feel my feet touching the ground
But if I can't swim after forty days
And my mind is crushed by the crashing waves

Lift me up so high that I cannot fall
Lift me up well
Lift me up when I'm falling
Lift me up, I'm weak and I'm dying
Lift me up, I need You to hold me
Lift me up, keep me from drowning again
Calm the storms that drench my eyes
And dry the streams still flowing
Casting down all waves of sin
And guilt that overthrow me
If I can't swim after forty days
And my mind is crushed by the crashing waves
Lift me up so high that I cannot fall
Lift me up well
Lift me up when I'm falling
Lift me up, I'm weak and I'm dying
Lift me up, I need you to hold me
Lift me up, keep me from drowning again
Lift me up
Lift me up
Lift me up
Lift me up

When creating music, Aaron Sjogren, known as Miori, would never call his process of forming songs “writing” or “composing”; instead, his music is a result of discovery, an exploration into what already exists but is yet to be revealed. If music is eternal, then its existence far supersedes our own. We would be wise to listen to what it’s telling us within that process, because music is accessible to everyone. Some are simply more gifted at finding it than others, and for the moment, Miori is showing us that he has discovered much indeed.
