MDL is an acronym for Matt, Dan, and Loren, the three members of the band. More a group of friends who share a great interest in music than a serious band, MDL has been recording from out of their homes with a simple digital recording studio for several years now. Their influences are widely varied (The Beatles, Dave Mathews Band, Death Cab For Cutie, Coldplay, etc.), and their sound is primarily a blend of Acoustic, Alternative, and Rock. Matt plays drums, while his brother Dan adds the bass and some guitar, and Loren plays guitar as well. Writing music is a task shared by all three.

While they used to write primarily instrumental songs, they've grown a little less hesitant when it comes to lyrics in recent months. Loren has been doing most of the lyrical work as of yet, with some outside collaboration from Brian Tippit as well. Loren is also the lead vocalist at the moment.

So the songs you're all hearing are some of our demo songs we'll be using for a little album we're hoping to finish some time in the future. Our songs are very open-ended, to the extent where we don't know which ones will have lyrics, which ones won't, or if any will have lyrics at all.

Our goal is to create something that is enjoyable for people to listen to. Something that can be turned on while you go about your tasks for the day or are winding down at night. Something that appeals to most types of people. We'll make little updates in the future if that's something we need to do, but for now, please have patience because our long awaited cd is in the works! Read more on Last.fm.
