Get Excited - Steve Brooke

After almost 25 years serving bands, artists and projects as a drummer, I've decided to start a new adventure in my musical journey. When I recorded my first solo album as a singer in 1998, I knew I wasn't ready for it. Song writing, composing and performing in the studio needs full attention. Now ten years later I feel more ready than ever to explore and free my spirit on this journey. Not bound and gagged by any commercial concept or even familiar expectations. When I started writing again two years ago, I found myself trapped in a cage of selfmade restrictions. One of 'em was the need to mention every big name I've worked with. Despite the fact that some of 'em brought me to a higher level, I went back to the roots to find myself. It brought me back to bands as Saga, Rush and Genesis. Also the influences from David Sylvian and Peter Gabriel gave me a boost in the right direction for the new material. I had to find my past to let another one go. So, my biography starts here...
