kaleta real name Leon Ligan-Majekodunmi> was born in Porto-Novo in the republic of Benin of Nigerian,Benin and Togolese ancestry....a stone thrown from Lagos where he actually grew up.....during his teenage years Kaleta was very active in <kareta>masquerade music when he was both dancer and drummer...he finally moved to Nigeria and played guitar with King Sunny Ade,Fela and Femi Kuti,Sir shina Peters to mention but a few...lately he was on world tour with Lauryn Hill...he co-founded Akoya Afrobeat a 13 piece Multi national band based in New york with members from Japan,Usa,Africa ect.
