In 2005, Piotr Warszawski began recording songs he had been working on over a course of ten years. He named the project Mikirurka. Mikirurka lineup expanded in 2007 when drummer Mat Buffalo and guitarist Wujek Drut joined Warszawski's solo effort. In 2008, bass player Basik joined the band. In April 2009 Mikirurka recorded a three-track EP at Studio Centrum in Krakow, Poland titled 'Vol. 1', which was produced by Greg Toma who shortly after joined the band as a guitarist.
In June 2009 the band recorded a follow-up 5-track EP tiltled 'Vol. 2'.
