God Makes the Rain Lyrics

I should have known there'd be danger
When I saw your face in the crowd
Now I'm trying to work past my anger
I should know better by nowI used to believe in the love songs
That took me so long to write down
Every word you say takes my breath away
But I should know better by nowChorus:
I know your sorrow
But everybody's tasted pain
I've known your sorrow
Since God makes the rain
I see tomorrow
When everybody tries again
I see tomorrow
When God makes the rain 2xI used to believe in the spirits
That turned all your words into sound
But I was your walk on the wild side
I should know better by nowIf you see me looking for something

Or someone who'll never be found
When I look your way
Turn your eyes astray
'Cause I should know better by nowChorusI used to hold my fury
Keep it bottled tight
And wrestle with the consequences
Each and every nightBut if I put my faith in someone who was only trying to bring me down
I wouldn't stand, where I am standing nowI should have known there'd be danger
When I saw your face in the crowd
Every word you say takes my breath away
But I should know better by nowChorus.
God makes the rain -repeated

Cowboy Mouth is a rock band based in New Orleans, Louisiana, taking their name from the title of a Sam Shepard play which got the term from a Bob Dylan song. The nucleus of the band, Fred Leblanc (Drums, Vocals) and John Thomas Griffith (Guitar, Vocals), formed in the early 1990s, and they climbed the ladder from an opening act living in a van to a powerhouse live act that has been called "a religious experience" by more than one music journalist. In particular their 2004 live Lincoln Park, Chicago album "Live From the Zoo" received incredible criticial praise, especially form Rolling Stone.
