Golden Child - black el

Black EL & Durkin are trying to inject some color into Boston hip-hop. Their debut project as a MC/producer duo, titled Color Commentary, is an expression of both artists’ eclectic tastes and personal struggles. EL’s brand of lyricism is reminiscent of Rawkus Records in its hay day combined with the presence and bravado of a new generation of MCs. Durkin’s production fuses clever sample chops, hard edged electronic sounds and trunk-rattling drum breaks to compliment EL’s aggressive style.
