Granite Statue Lyrics

Sitting in a garden
With a face like a granite statue
I am winter solstice
Waiting like a granite statueJust like a granite statue
I will come when the weather's fine
Just like a granite statue
I wanna know what's on your mindEvery single time that I come here
I can't tell you what I feel
I am so polite to you and courteous
I know that it's not realI long to grab a hold of you
And take you in my arms tonight
But when I feel I'm going to
My courage flies away and I turn coldJust like a granite statue
I will come when the weather's fine
Just like a granite statue
I wanna know what's on your mind
Just like a granite statue
Statue, is that you, statue?Just like a granite statue

I will come when the weather's fine
Just like a granite statue
I wanna know what's on your mindJust like a granite statue
I will come when the weather's fine
But I'm a granite statue
And I know you'll not ever be mineJust like a granite statue
Statue, is that you, statue?
Statue, is that you, statue?
Statue, is that you, statue?
Statue

[1] Marijne van der Vlugt met guitarist Paul Kennedy whilst studying at film school and knew drummer Rob Wakeman from the house she was living in. They found a bassist and formed a band named The Merry Babes. Marijne sang lead vocals and played keyboards. Salad's first album, Drink Me hit the streets in 1995 and peaked at number 17 in the album charts, no doubt thanks to the bands relentless touring around the UK and Europe.
