Halfway Lyrics

Well I know just what it is you want
The way you love and get enough
And then you move on
You play the game of who you need
And learn his name and walk away
To find the next one
You say the things your looking for
Look past me and towards the door
But darling did you think I wouldn't know
I might not be what you want
I'm gonna be your halfway
I might not be what you need
But I'm gonna be the way
I'm never gonna be the thing you want
I'm gonna be your halfway

I might not be what you need
I'm gonna be your halfway
(Halfway, I'll be your halfway, halfway, I'll be your halfway)
You like to close your eyes and nod
And picture him and what he'd say
And what he looks like
But all I can think is all the dreams in the world
That can match up to the real thing, the real thing yeah
I might not be what you want
I'm gonna be your halfway
I might not be what you need
Well I'm gonna be the way
I'm never gonna be the thing you want
I'm gonna be your halfway
I might not be what you need
I'm gonna be your halfway
I'm gonna be forever yours
Don't you dare believe her, no
I'm gonna be forever yours
She's always gonna let you go
I could stay up wait the whole night
But she's never gonna show
I might not be what you want
I'm gonna be your halfway
I might not be what you need
But I'm gonna be the way
I'm never gonna be the thing you want
But I'm gonna be your halfway
I might not be what you need
I'm gonna be your halfway
I might not be what you want
(I'm gonna be forever yours)
Baby I won't be what you want
I might not be what you need
But I'm gonna be the way ya
I'm never gonna be the thing you want
(I'm gonna be forever yours)
But I'm gonna be your halfway
I might not be what you need
But I'm gonna be your halfway

Polystar is an esoteric blend of rock, electronica, folk, and disco, with a pop sensibility. Rather than following the recent trend of many bands who try to sound JUST LIKE the 60s, 70s, or 80s bands they admire, Polystar mixes these influences up, making music that is "dated in three decades", while still sounding fresh and different. Songs are typically dark in nature, covering such subject matter as stalking (from the stalkers and stalkees point of view), betrayal, regret, and darkness itself. They somehow manage to explore these themes in the context of very catchy pop songs.
