Hammerhead Lyrics

He sees himself as a warrior
In a world that doesn't understand
A demon light fills the eyes
Of this mechanical man
He's a living, breathing nightmare
He's twisted and he's mean
In his head, the walking dead
Are his secret war machine
Oh, oh, hammerhead
He was just a lonely boy
Before the demons took control
His sanity, humanity
Lost somewhere long ago
Now the poisons in his memory
Are clogging up his veins
And the loneliness like a devil's kiss
Has gone straight to his brain
Oh, oh, hammerhead

(Hammerhead)
Oh, oh, hammerhead
Now he's lost within his madness
And more and more each day
The metal man turns his hand
To the price the world must pay
Hammerhead
Oh, oh, hammerhead
Oh, oh, hammerhead

Columbia, SC-based band Mary Shelley Overdrive made a splash earlier in 2008 with an impromptu collection of covers titled Hideous Sexy. Released the same weekend as Bo Diddley’s death, the album featured a cover of his classic “Who Do You Love,” described by New York Magazine as a “muscle-bound goth dirge.”
Hideous Sexy was a collection of cover songs recorded during the creation of the band’s self-titled LP, released September 24, 2008. Hideous Sexy has been available as a free download at the band’s website, maryshelleyoverdrive.blogspot.com, since May.
