Kavita Subramaniam née Krishnamurthy, (Hindi:कविता/शराधा कृष्णमूर्ति सुब्रमानीयम, Tamil:கவிதா/ சாரதா கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி சுப்ரமணியம்) is an Indian playback singer. Kavita was born as Sharada Krishnamurthy in Delhi to a Tamil family. She moved to Mumbai to pursue her musical career. Her first Bollywood song was officially credited in 1980 in the film Maang Bharo Sajana. She became famous with the track Hawa Hawai from the 1987 film Mr. India, picturized on Sridevi.
