Whipster is a band from Groningen, a city in the northern part of the Netherlands. After several years trying to find the right musical direction, Peter van der Heide (guitar, vocals), Henk Drent (bass) and Marinus de Lange (drums) recorded their debut with producer Jan Heddema. The album, Strange, was released in 2002 by My First Sonny Weissmuller Recordings, distribution Konkurrent. Strange got very got reviews and was was praised by journalists.
