Hearts and Minds Lyrics

My mind isn't quite sure
What it has bargained for
But my heart is in time with
With the consistent beatThis dream is sneaking up on me
No matter how collected I seem to be
Is anybody ever truly complete
Or are the better ones just better at believing? So I'll go and say you're with me
I know it's just the beginningMy mind isn't quite sure
What it has bargained for
But my heart is in time with
With the consistent beatAt times I feel cold and exposed under a microscope
But it has never felt much better to live
It doesn't matter if all my friends latch on to this
There's only one acceptance that's not later dismissedJust go and say you're with me
I know it's just the beginningMy mind isn't quite sure
What it has bargained for
But my heart is in time with
With the consistent beat of yoursMy mind isn't quite sure

What it has bargained for
But my heart is in time with
With the consistent beat of yoursI'm not looking to music to complete me
I'm not looking for a new philosophy
I'm not waiting for somebody to swoon me
I'm not waiting for somebody to swoon me
I'm just searching for a better way into your loveMy mind isn't quite sure
What it has bargained for
But my heart is in time with
With the consistent beat of yoursMy mind isn't quite sure
What it has bargained for
But my heart is in time with
With the consistent beatCan you feel the only eyes that see inside?
Can you feel anything anymore?

Formed in Chelmsford when main protagonists Douglas McCarthy (vocals) and Bon Harris (drums, programming) were just 15, Nitzer Ebb cut a dynamic swathe through the electronic music and Balaeric beat scenes of the 1980s and 90s. They were electro-punks before the genre even existed, at a time when The Prodigy were not even a gleam in fellow Essex boy Liam Howlett's eye. Militaristic, intimidating yet always accessible, Nitzer Ebb enjoyed a string of ferocious club hits and released five critically acclaimed albums on Mute.
