Highway Lyrics

I love a fast car
And you got a fast ride
So won't you take me for a spin out on your highway
'Cuz it's rainin' outside and
I know that a drive might sound a little crazy
But I feel that it's time
So boy, speed it up
Slow it down
Put it back in reverse
My directions, pay attention to my every word
We can bump, we can swerve
But watch out for that curve
On your highway
(On your highway)
Engines
(Engines)
Roarin'
(Roarin')

Bodies
(Bodies)
Explorin'
(Explorin')
Hold on tight, we're goin' all the way
All the way
We can go eighty miles an hour
Ninety miles an hour
As long as you're drivin' me, it's okay
'Cuz I love it ridin' on your highway
Now, let's take it nice and slow and
I'll tell you where to go
I'll whisper to you softly when I see the signs
(La, la, la)
I, I look over to see you
(Yeah)
And you're checkin' out the rear view
I'll control the stick you drive between the lines
(Whoa aaa)
Speed it up
Slow it down
Put it back in reverse
My directions, pay attention to my every word
We can bump, we can swerve
But watch out for that curve
On your highway
Uuh
Engines
(Engines)
Roarin'
(Roarin')
(Bodies)
Bodies
(Bodies)
Explorin'
(Explorin')
Hold on tight, we're goin' all the way
All the way
(All the way)
We can go eighty miles an hour
Ninety miles an hour
As long as you're drivin' me, it's okay
'Cuz I love it ridin' on your highway
Take me to another place
(Somewhere)
Where you can touch my face
(Somewhere)
Where you can kiss my waist
(Somewhere)
That I can show you
Engines
(Engines)
(Oh)
Roarin'
(Roarin')
(Oh)
Bodies
(Bodies)
Explorin'
(Explorin')
Hold on tight, we're movin' all the way
(All the way)
We can go eighty miles an hour
(Oh)
(Eighty)
Ninety miles an hour
(Ninety)
As long as you're drivin' me, it's okay
'Cuz I love it ridin' on your highway

Praying Mantis are a well established band of melodic hard rockers. They were formed by brothers Tino Troy and Chris Troy in the United Kingdom 1974 and they became one of the bands associated with the the nwobhm (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal). Their first album 1981's "Time Tells No Lies" received a lot of critical acclaim. England's Praying Mantis was one of the more melodic bands to emerge from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal scene. They combined a Thin Lizzy-style twin guitar approach with Def Leppard-like vocal harmonies, resulting in a sound not unlike later-day Rainbow.
