His Only Trade Lyrics

Some day he's gonna wake up
In a burning house
And wonder what to save
And wonder who to blameSomeday he's gonna wake up
In a burning house
And wonder what got burned
And what looks the sameSomeday he's gonna take stock
Of sleepwalking days
Similar prints and sutured pagesSomeday he's gonna take stock
Of the time he lost
When he tied the knot
And pulled the stringSessions
(He only hurt you)
(When you were lying)You wanna make that bastard sing
(His only trade)
You wanna make that bastard sing
(His only trade)
You wanna make that bastard singWishing you never lights out

Wishing you never lights out
Wishing you never lights out
Wishing you never lights outWishing you never lights out
Wishing you never lights out
Wishing you never lights out
Wishing you never lights out

Jawbox was a post-hardcore band which formed in 1989 in Washington D.C., United States. The band consisted of J Robbins (vocals, guitar), Bill Barbot (guitar), Kim Coletta (bass) and Adam Wade (drums). The band split in 1997. In their eight-year existence, Jawbox released four studio albums of increasingly skillful post-punk, not necessarily carrying the torch of their Washington DC, elders (Minor Threat, Embrace, Rites of Spring), but instead building on the tradition of Chicago's thriving early-'80s scene (Big Black, Naked Raygun, Effigies).
