Hold On To Me Lyrics

I wanna know what you dream, oh, baby
Am I one with your fantasy?
I wanna show you my deepest feelings
Ain’t that how love’s supposed to be
Give me love, hold on to me
Give me hope, hold on to me
Give me dreams, hold on
Oh baby, give it up
Give me heart, hold on to me
Give me soul, hold on to me
Give me your smile, hold on
Oh baby, give it all
I had enough of bad luck, oh baby
All those nights that I can’t replace
None of the love in my past can claim me
Others go but you don’t fade away
So give me love, hold on to me
Give me hope, hold on to me

Give me dreams, hold on
Oh baby, give it up
Give me heart, hold on to me
Give me soul, hold on to me
Give me your life, hold on
Oh baby, give it all
I know in my heart it’s real, oh real
I know this love I feel for you, darling
If something ain’t right just say so, baby
Don’t let it go, don’t stay away, stay with me
Give me love, hold on to me
Give me hope, hold on to me
Give me dreams, hold on
Oh baby, give it up
Give me heart, hold on to me
Give me soul, hold on to me
Give me your life, hold on
Oh baby, give it all
Oh, honey, hold on to me, hold on to me
Oh, hold on to me, hold on to me
Hold on, hold on
Got to hold on to me
Give me love, hold on to me
Give me hope, hold on to me
Give me dreams, hold on
Oh baby, give it up
Oh baby, please hold on to me
Give it to me, hold on to me
Oh baby, please, hold on
Baby, hold on to me
Can you hold on to love where ever you went?
Babe, at the end of the day, but now
Baby, hold on, hold on to me
Hold on, give it up, hold on
Oh baby, oh no no baby, baby hold on

His mother played songs by Frank Sinatra to him as a child, and he later became a fan of Motown and other R&B/soul music. He took piano lessons as a child, but he did not like them. He would skip the lessons and ride his bicycle across the bridge from his grandfather's farm over to the heart of the black "Chicken Hill" ghetto, where he could just listen and absorb the music.

In the 1960s, Hall attended Temple University, but did not graduate, preferring instead to spend his time singing on the street corners and play with various musicians and groups. At that time, Daryl Hohl (as he was called then) sang backup for different bands. He eventually changed his last name to Hall. Daryl Hall idolized the Temptations and began to perform session work as a singer. He first met John Oates at a band competition.

After John transferred to a different school, Daryl joined the band Gulliver, which released one eponymous album in 1969 before being dropped from their label.

Daryl is the host of the wildly popular online show entitled "Live From Daryl's House", where Daryl and the band collaborate with artists from various musical genres on the 15th of each month. The first episode aired in 2007, and it's still going strong. Best of all, it's free to watch.
