Holyanna Lyrics

Your hair's a mess, you better put on a dress
And get your feet back on the ground
You fix your eyes for some city guys
Who wouldn't save you if you drownedYou hang on forty-second street
And do your homework in the bar
Saint Helen says you're missin' school
And I'm wonderin' where you areHolyanna, Holyanna
Girl, what you do to me?
Holyanna, Holyanna
Girl, you're a blue-eyed mysteryYou read your books until nobody looks
And then you slip out after dark
You steal my love then say you're sorry
And do your penance in the parkYou fooled your mother when you skipped ballet
To paint your face for the midnight show
And in the morning, you knelt beside your bed
And prayed she'd never knowHolyanna, Holyanna
Girl, what you do to me?
Holyanna, Holyanna

Girl, you're a blue-eyed mysteryHolyanna, Holyanna
Girl, what you do to me
Holyanna, Holyanna
Girl, what you do to me?Holyanna, Holyanna
Girl, what you do to me?
Holyanna
Girl, you're a blue-eyed mystery

In 1977, Kimball joined a group of fellow Los Angeles session musicians called Toto by submitting a self-penned audition song for the band, "You are the Flower," which was included on their debut album. He recorded the first four studio albums for Toto, before drug and personal issues began to cause conflicts among the other members of the band. He was released from the band in 1984 during sessions for Isolation, their follow-up studio album to 1982's Grammy Award-winning Toto IV.
