Horizontal Departure Lyrics

And you said you'd never leave me
And you said you'd be my only one
I said you'd never grieve me, baby
For things you do when you are only having fun, funYou said you'd cry a river
I thought you meant you'd cry a river of tears
You'd rather die than live without me, baby
But little girl, you're so insincereYou know you count your blessings
But now I find that you were counting sheep, counting sheep
And then I try to court your feelings
I caught your eye and then you caught my cheekAll the things must come to fruit now
And there you stood so proud the apple of my eyes
You said you'd never leave me, baby
But little girl, that's the reason whyWoh, woh, that's why I have to leave you all alone
Woh, woh, that's why you have to leave me all aloneLet's go collect our prize now
So entertaining, we were number one, number one
The judge is hypnotized now
But after all we both been fooled for so damn longSo face the crowd and take a bow now, bow now
'Cause one more time and it will all be done

'Cause I must be the show to you now, baby
My next performance has just begunWoh, woh, that's why I have to leave you all alone
Woh, woh, that's why you have to leave me all aloneWoh, woh, that's why I have to leave you all alone
Woh, woh, that's why you have to leave me all aloneOh, stop and think for a minute, baby
As they bring the curtain down
Another drink then another, maybe
The toast might not make roundsI taught you style, the duck and the weaving
We were famous for
And here's to him and here's to yours
And you can take the floor, the floorWoh, woh, that's why I have to leave you all alone
Woh, woh, that's why you have to leave me all aloneI don't know, so you turned around and found another fool
I don't know, so you turned around and found another
I don't know, so you turned around and found another fool
I don't know, so you turned around and found another

Robert Anthony Plant CBE (born 20 August 1948, West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England) is a British rock singer famous for being the lead vocalist of one of the most influential rock bands of all time: Led Zeppelin. He is known for his powerful style with a wide vocal range. After Led Zeppelin's breakup following the sudden death of drummer John Bonham in 1980, Plant pursued a successful solo career. Popular tracks from this period include "Big Log," "Tall Cool One," and "I Believe." In 1984, Plant formed a short-lived all-star group with Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck and Phil Collins called The Honeydrippers, who had a Top Ten hit with a remake of the Phil Phillips' tune, "Sea of Love".

Plant's love of the music of Morocco led him to a new collaboration called Robert Plant And The Strange Sensation. The band's releases met with critical acclaim and numerous Grammy nominations. They completed the 2006 tour of Europe in September.

In 2007, Plant began recording and performing with bluegrass star Alison Krauss. A duet album, Raising Sand, was released on 23 October 2007 on Rounder Records. The album, recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles and produced by T-Bone Burnett met with enormous critical and commercial success.

The year of 2010 proves to be yet another successful year for the aging lemon squeezer. Durring the summer, Plant will be reuniting with his old, Pre-Zep group, The Band Of Joy, for a tour of the southern and mid continental tour of the US.
