Houdini And The Girl Lyrics

Look here comes Houdini
Handcuffed, blind and bound
Here comes a girl now
Slips a key into his mouthHe says I?ve been under the water
I?ve been under the ground
And honey one thing?s certain
There?s no escaping now
'cause it?s a long way down
It?s a long way down from hereLook here comes Houdini
Triumphant after all
But where?s the girl now
Did she not survive the fallShe says I?ve been under the water
I?ve been under the ground
And honey one thing?s certain
I?ll never take that bow
'cause it?s a long way down
It?s a long way down from here

Tom McRae is a singer-songwriter from the United Kingdom. He grew up in Suffolk, the son of an Anglican vicar. McRae sang in the choir. His mother played guitar and as a teen, he'd borrow it. He began writing songs at 15. At 18 he moved to London to study politics at London Guildhall University, soon forming bands and writing songs. A chance meeting with sound engineer Roger Bechirian led him to a working relationship that shaped McRae's soft-spoken sound and later landed him a deal with DB records.
