Comrade Fatso & Chabvondoka are an explosive, genre-busting, insurgent band that defy musical boxes and modern day apolitical pop music. This multi-racial African band seamlessly blends sounds as diverse as rock, hip hop, chimurenga, jiti, house and reggae while Comrade Fatso's spoken word hip hop flow hits subjects ranging from the struggle for freedom to love and having a good time. His poetry and music have appeared in print and broadcast media in over fifty countries around the world and is being studied in universities in Germany, UK, USA, France and South Africa.
Comrade Fatso & Chabvondoka launched their much-acclaimed album, House of Hunger, praised internationally but banned by the Zimbabwean authorities because of its outspoken criticism of the repressive regime. They have performed extensively, having been invited to perform at festivals and venues in USA, France, UK, Germany, Portugal, Holland, Barbados, Reunion and all over Southern Africa and have shared the stage with acts such as Missy Elliot, K'Naan, Sly & Robbie and David Guetta. Their music has appeared on NRI, CNN, BBC and Al Jazeera.
Continuing their upward spiral they performed at one of Europe's biggest and most prestigious festivals, Exit Festival in July 2010 and their music was included on Discograph's 'Africa 50 Years Of Music', a compilation CD of the best African music from the last 50 years.
