How Do You Sleep? Lyrics

I know, I know, I know you want to see me fall
I hope, I hope, I hope you know I'm not that small
I'm big, I'm big, I'm bigger than you wanted to believe
For that you'll keep coming back to haunt meCongratulations
They are in order
Is that enough for you
If looks could kill they have to kill youHow do you sleep at night?
With all your demons at your side
And every time you use your name
Theres a girl like me going down in vainWell, I'm sick, I'm sick, I'm sick of all this shit
And now I'm tired, I'm tired, I'm tired of being picked on
And I know, I know, I know that you've got something that I want
For that you'll keep coming back to haunt meCongratulations
You look the part now
Is that enough for you
If looks could kill they have to kill youHow do you sleep at night?
With all your demons at your side
And every time you use your name

Theres a girl like me going down in vainYou are what you are
And you might think that you're breaking through
(You are what you are)
Youll never last, no, not a girl like you
(You are what you are)
And I'm not gonna let you push me
(You are what you are)
'Cause I'm gonna push you
(You are what you are)
I'll push you, I'll push youHow do you sleep at night?
With all your demons at your side
And every time you use your name
Theres a girl like me going down in vainWell, how do you sleep at night?
With all your demons at your side
And every time you use your name
Theres a girl like me going down in vainTheres a girl like me going down in vain
Theres a girl like me going down in vain

Daughter of producer Lenny Waronker, Anna appeared on the scene as the singer for that dog. The band met with limited success: its final album Retreat from the Sun was initially intended to be Waronker's solo debut. The band broke up in 1997, and she subsequently worked on music for films and television. Anna contributed tracks to the teen flick Josie and the Pussycats (2001) and arranged the theme for UPN's 1996-1999 sitcom Clueless, and along with husband Steve McDonald (Redd Kross), produced Imperial Teen's third album, On. She also stretched into the business side of music: with sister-in-law Charlotte Caffey (the Go-Go's), she formed her own label, Five Foot Two, in early 2001. This gave Anna a place for her own musical adventures. Her proper debut, Anna (released in summer 2002) was a mixture of raw pop sound and layered, lush harmonies. Read more on Last.fm.
