How Long Lyrics

How long?
'Til you and I can be together
How long?
Until we see this throughDo you recall that winter evening
The night that I said I'm leaving
Hoping you would change my mindI lay my head up on your knees
And whispered please but inside I was leaving
I'm the leaving kindI could put you off forever
This longing has no endHow long?
'Til you and I can be together
How long?
Until we see this throughAnd when the burning leaves are falling
I can always hear you calling
Fearing we are losing groundBut in you secret hearts we're knowing
Our love is winter and it's snowing
Falling, comfort coming downI could put you off forever
This longing has no end
Advertising lasts a lifetime

If not now then when? How long?
'Til you and I can be together
How long?
Until we see this throughHow long?
Until we know that this is forever
How long?
'Til I say I love you
Until we see this throughSo the thunder in my distance
Tells me what to do
When the daylights turn to darkness
I'll be coming home to youHow long?
'Til you and I can be together
How long?
Until we see thisHow long?
Until we know that this is forever
How long?
'Til I say I love you
Until we see this throughCan I say I love you?
We've got to see
