Hurt Lyrics

I shiver when you touch my skin,
and I know without asking
You're right there where you wanna be
You're right here in front of meAnd you talk about travelling
Where we'll go and where we've been
But the scene you're building out
All I see is it coming downOh, you are so good, I know that this is gonna hurt
I don't think we should, you know it's never gonna work
There's things that you can't see
You're way too close to me
This one is gonna hurtOh-oh-oh-oh-oh, this one is gonna hurt
Oh-oh-oh-oh-ohYou feel cold in the summer sun,
Leaves fall and the winter comes
Why does it take us by surprise?
It's been the story all our lives, ohAnd boy, you know, the less you learn
What goes unsaid, doesn't go unheard
If only I could help us both
Come round and wait from where we're goingYou are so good, I know that this is gonna hurt, I

I don't think we should, you know it's never gonna work
There's things that you can't see
You're way too close to me
This one is gonna hurtOh-oh-oh-oh-oh, this one is gonna hurt
Oh-oh-oh-oh-ohYou are so good, I know that this is gonna hurt,
I don't think we should, you know it's never gonna work, ohYou are so good, I know that this is gonna hurt,
I don't think we should, you know it's never gonna work
There's things that you can't see
You're way too close to me
This one is gonna hurtOh-oh-oh-oh-oh, this one is gonna hurt
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, this one is gonna hurt

Gabrielle Aplin is the whipsmart teenage sensation with spirit in her voice and ability to bottle melodic lightning who, at 14, wrote her first song, Ghosts. At 17, she made it the title track of her first EP. At the same age, she set up her own label, Never Fade Records. Soon she had landed herself a booking agent and was plotting her own tours round the UK. By 18 she had released two further EPs and was running a profit making DIY artist’s enterprise – with plans already afoot to plough those profits back into other similarly inclined musicians she’d encountered along the way.
