Hush Your Mouth Lyrics

Oh, hush your mouth
Oh, hush your mouthHey, little baby, don't you cry
Mama went down town buyin' [Incomprehensible]
Hey little baby don't say a word
Mama gonna whoop you 'bout somethin' she heardOh, hush your mouth
Oh, hush your mouthMama gonna buy you a diamond ring
If that diamond ring is brass
Mama gonna buy a lookin' glass
If that lookin' glass is broke
Mama gonna buy a horse and coachOh, hush your mouth
Oh, hush your mouth
Oh, hush your mouth
Oh, hush your mouthIf that horse and coach turn over
Mama gonna buy you a dog named RoverOh, hush your mouth
Oh, hush your mouthA coonskin alligator hide
Gonna make into shoes baby, just' like mine
Don't be afraid to put 'em on your feet
Shoes I've got just' can't be beatHush your mouth

Hush your mouth
Hush your mouth, baby
Hush your mouth
Hush your mouth, darling

Bo Diddley (December 30, 1928 - June 2, 2008) "The Originator," was an influential American rock and roll singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He is often cited as a key figure in the transition of blues into rock and roll, by introducing more insistent, driving rhythms and a harder-edged guitar sound. He was born Otha Ellas Bates in McComb, Mississippi and later took the name Ellas McDaniel, after his adoptive mother, Gussie McDaniel. He adopted the stage name Bo Diddley, which is probably a southern black slang phrase meaning "nothing at all," as in "he ain't bo diddley.
