I Got You Lyrics

What kind of song do you want to sing for me?
Is it slow or is it rock and roll?
What kind of day do you want to bring to me?
Rain or shine, well, I will be just fine
'Cause I've got everything you need
Yeah, I got everything, well, I got everything
And I got you and you're putting it all together
Well, it doesn't get any better as far as I can tell
I got you, right now and ever after
And it doesn't even really matter
That I've got nothing else 'cause I got you
Where do I go when I want to know the truth?
It isn't me, well, it's only you
When will I know what you have for me to do?
Well, is it now or is it coming soon?
'Cause I've got everything you need
Yeah, I got everything, yeah, I got everything
I got you and you're putting it all together

Well, it doesn't get any better as far as I can tell
I got you, right now and ever after
And it doesn't even really matter
That I've got nothing else 'cause I got
Be it pleasure, be it pain
I'm ready for whatever, whatever life may bring
'Cause I know that in the end
Everything works together
For the good of those who love him
'Cause I got you and you're putting it all together
It doesn't get much better as far as I can tell
I got you, right now and ever after
And it doesn't even really matter
That I've got nothing else
Well, I got you and you're putting it all together
Well, it doesn't get any better as far as I can tell
Well, I got you, right now and ever after
And it doesn't even really matter
That I've got nothing else 'cause I got
Come on, come on, come on now baby

A songwriter, producer, singer, and DJ, Vikter Duplaix is originally from Philadelphia and remains highly connected to the Philly soul movement. In the 90s Duplaix worked primarily as a producer working on records for Erykah Badu, Musiq, and Jaguar Wright.
A friendship with Philly DJ King Britt led to an immersion in modern dance music. He contributed vocals to Britt's Scuba project (Swell) and soon was producing his own material; underground singles like "Messages," "Manhood," and "Sensuality" went over well with house DJs, including Masters at Work, who gave "Sensuality" a big push.
