I Hate the Way I Love It (feat. Johnny Rodriguez) Lyrics

(with Johnny Rodriguez)J: You knew I'd come around again, baby
I knew you'd let me in again, baby
Neither one of us is strong enough to tell the other one goodbye
C: Help yourself to me, I help myself to you
What in the world are we gonna do?
Who gives us the right to be wrong one more night?
J: 'Cause my best friend is your husband
C: & my best friend is your wife(Chorus:)
BOTH: Don't you know, I hate the way I love it
Don't you know, we got to pull away from it
Don't you know, I hate the way I love it
J: When I'm wantin' you & needin' you the way I do
BOTH: I can't stay away from your loveC: Lyin' here with you tonight, baby
Away from all the city lights, baby
Never feelin' any shame for the game we are playin'
J: There's a vacancy across the way
Where other lovers just like us will play
For the foolproof alibi that we made up together

J: But my best friend is your husband
C: & my best friend is your wife(Chorus)(backing vocals: I can't stay away from you
No no no I can't stay away from you)(Chorus, fading)

Early life Childhood & teen years
Charlotte Denise McClain was born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1956. Originally named Charlotte, "Charly" was given her masculine moniker by neighborhood friends in Memphis, and she also used it when she started playing hotel lounges. When Epic Records decided it sounded catchier than Charlotte, it became a permanent professional banner. [1] McClain's father had tuberculosis when she was eight, and, since she was under age for visitation rights at the hospital, she had to communicate with him through a tape recorder. [2]
