I Know Lyrics

I know
Theres a million things that I dont know
This I know for sureI know
You say Ive got to keep on my toes
Its hard when theyre brokenI know
You reap what you s
ow
Or so Im told
I know
Fortune favors the bold and so Ill go
Find my pot of goldBut what am I to do with me?
What would you have me be?
Your notion seems a little preconceived
Cause youre pointing out what Ive already seenI know
Theres a million chances Ive blown
Ill probably lose a million moreI know
I dont know half you know
Because you told me soI know

My plane has flown
Set for parts unknownBut I know
If I buy what Im told Ill never own
More than Im soldSo what am I to do with me?
What would you have me be?
Your notion seems a little preconceived
Cause youre pointing out what Ive already seen.Is there something that I should know?
Do you have advice thats not on loan?
Or is this all that youre good for?
I know that tooI know
Theres a million things that I dont knowI know
I dont know half you know
Because you told me soI know
You reap what you sow
Or so Im toldI know
If I buy what Im told Ill never own
More than Im sold

Born in Houston, Texas, Jas Patrick moved to Nashville with his family in the early 90s when his father, Jeff Peterson, began playing steel guitar for the Clint Black band.

Patrick developed an early interest in music and was given his first drum kit at the age of four. With no money for professional instruction, he learned to play by mimicking favorite records from ZZ Top, Little Feat, the Clint Black band, jazz albums and popular rock bands of the time. For years he continued solely as a drummer, playing with a myriad of local bands in high school, college and later with major label artists.

Over time Patrick also taught himself to play guitar and began writing his own songs, though he never considered himself a singer. “I tried to find someone to sing my songs, but never found a fit,” he recalls. With encouragement from friends, Patrick began testing the waters in late 2005 when he played his first solo gig at a coffee house. After that performance, Patrick began focusing on his career as a solo artist and went to work recording his debut album, Working On My Soul. Recorded in his home studio, Working On My Soul, grew into an ambitious, 18-track album that took over three years to create and was finally released in 2010.

For his latest release, Tributaries, Patrick felt as though he was a “mad scientist,” distilling his musical ideas into five songs that reveal a melange of rock, blues, R&B and world music. Tributaries is now on sale at http://www.jaspatrick.com as well as major digital outlets such as iTunes and Amazon.com. Read more on Last.fm.
