I Shall Be Released Lyrics

They say everything can be replaced
And yet every distance is not near
So I remember every face
Of every man that put me hereAnd I see my light come shinin'
From the west down to the east
Any day now, any day now
I shall be releasedThey say every man needs protection
They say every man must fall
But I swear I seen my reflection
Somewhere so high above this wallThen I see my light come shinin'
From the west down to the east
Any day now, any day now
I shall be releasedYou're standing next to me in this lonely crowd
Is a man who says he's not to blame
And all day long I hear him crying so loud
You're shouting out that he was framedBut I see my, I see my light come shinin'
From the west down to the eastc
Any day now, any day now

I shall be releasedI see my light come shinin'
From the west down to the eastc
Any day now, any day now
I shall be released
Any day now, any day now
I shall be released

The trio Peter, Paul and Mary (often PP&M) is an American musical group that was one of the most successful folk-singing groups of the 1960s. The trio comprises Peter Yarrow, Noel Paul Stookey, and Mary Travers. The group was created by manager Albert Grossman, who sought to create a folk "supergroup" by bringing together "a tall blonde (Travers), a funny guy (Stookey), and a good looking guy (Yarrow)." He launched the group in 1961, booking them into the Bitter End, a coffee house in New York City's Greenwich Village that was a favorite place to hear folk artists.
