I Smell Trouble Lyrics

Lord knows I've tried
To do what's right
One whole year of staying home
Both day and night'Cause I smell a mean trouble
Way over yonder you know I heard a mean, yeah
Always in trouble people
Lord they just won't let me beThe people talk about me
Both night and day
I said, Lord please forgive them
And go the other way'Cause I smell a mean trouble
Lord I smell trouble ahead of me, oh yeah
Yes, we're always in trouble
Lord, they just won't let me beAnd from now on
I will not run and hide
I'll face trouble with a smile
And hope it pass me by'Cause I smell a mean trouble
Way over yonder, I say I heard a mean
Yes, we're always in trouble

They just won't, they just won't
Lord, they just won't let me be, oh yeah

Ike Wister Turner (November 5, 1931 - December 12, 2007) was an American guitarist, pianist, bandleader, talent scout, and record producer. Considered to be one of the fathers of rock and roll, his first recording, "Rocket 88" (incorrectly credited to "Jackie Brenston and His Delta Cats") in 1951, is considered by some to be the "first rock and roll song" ever. Turner is probably best known for his work with his ex-wife, Tina Turner as one half of the Ike & Tina Turner revue. In a career that lasted half a century, Ike's repertoire included blues, soul, rock, and funk.
