I Synthesize - Atlantic Someone

The story of Atlantic Someone begins with five childhood friends from the outskirts of Oslo, Norway. Bred on a fine blend of American and British hard rock, combined with the inherent melancholy of their Scandinavian roots, the band consisting of Troll Toftenes, Jan Magnus Nymo, Johann Ruud, Bjørn Bommen and Andreas Nedrelid, started out in the mid 2000's developing their own unique approach to the modern scene of alternative rock.

Their sound, which focuses on intricate arrangements of flowing guitars, analog synths and a prog-pop drum&bass section, lays a tight yet utterly melodic foundation to the powerful voice and lyrics of frontman Toftenes.

As a long time independant act and true representatives of the DIY movement, Atlantic Someone takes great pride in being 100% involved in their own product. Everything from album artwork and online visuals, to band photos and music videos, is drawn, designed, filmed and edited by the band members themselves. Even the musical recordings and production are done on the group’s mobile studio rig, notably at mountain cottages deep in the solitude of the Norwegian wilderness. Read more on Last.fm.
