I Wish I Could Be That Strong Lyrics

I was so sure of myself when I walked away
You wanted to work it out but there was nothing to say
Wish that I could break down, admit I was wrong
Oh baby, wish I could be that strong
I've had time to think it through now and consider your side
Now I see that I was blinded, blinded by my own foolish pride
I wish that I could break down, admit that I was wrong
Oh baby, I wish I could be that strong
Strong enough to show you how weak I am in love
Strong enough to let go to give my life to you
Strong enough to break down the wall I put between us
Oh baby, wish I could be that strong
Whoa baby, wish I could be that strong
I thought it would be weakness to let you win the fight
Oh, but deep down inside baby, I always knew you were right

I wish that I could break down, admit that I was wrong
Whoa baby, wish I could be that strong
Whoa baby, wish I could be that strong
Wish I could be, I wish I could be that strong
Strong enough to come back, whoa on my bended knees
Begging you baby, oh please, please, please
I just wish I could be that strong
Oh yeah, yeah, whoa, baby, whoa baby

Coco Montoya (b. 1951 in Santa Monica, CA) is a blues guitarist and former member of John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers. Montoya's career began in the mid-70's when Albert Collins asked him to join his band as drummer. Collins took Montoya under his wing and taught him his "icy hot" guitar style. The two remained friends even after Montoya left Collins' band. In the early 80's John Mayall heard Montoya playing guitar in a Los Angles bar. Soon after Mayall asked Montoya to join the newly reformed Bluesbreakers. He remained a member of the band for 10 years.
