I Wish I Were In Love Again Lyrics

You don't know that I felt good
when we up and parted
You don't know I knocked on wood
gladly broken-hearted
Worrying is through
I sleep all night
appetite and health restored
You don't know how much I'm bored!
The sleepless nights
the daily fights
the quick toboggan
when you reach the heights
I miss the kisses and I miss the bites
I wish I were in love again!
The broken dates,
the endless waits

the lovely loving and the hateful hates
the conversations with the flying plates
Wish I were in love again!
No more pain
no more strain
now I'm sane but ...
I would rather be
loving you, baby!
If this is real
let’s make a deal
You can me me dope
You can call me heel
I’ve learned my lesson
and it’s love I really feel...
again
No more care
no despair
I'm all there now
Glad to be with you
It’s plain to see
that you and me
will add a few leaves
to the family tree
We don’t like quiet
and we’re glad to be
in love again!
In love again!

Jackie and Roy was a jazz vocal team consisting of husband and wife singer Jackie Cain (born May 22, 1928 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin) and singer/pianist Roy Kral (born October 10, 1921 in Cicero, Illinois; died August 2, 2002 in Montclair, New Jersey). They first joined forces in 1946, and in 1996 they celebrated their 50th anniversary as a vocal duo. Jackie and Roy's stint with Charlie Ventura's band in 1948 and 1949 brought them a great deal of recognition; Lou Stein's "East of Suez" was an unusual feature for their voices.
