I Wished On The Moon Lyrics

I wished on the moon, for something I never knew
I wished on the moon, for more than I ever knew
A sweeter rose, a softer sky
On April days that would not dance awayI wished on the stars to throw me a beam or two
I begged of a stars and asked for a dream or two
I looked for every loveliness, it all came true
I wished on the moon for youI wished on the moon, for something I never knew
I wished on the moon, for more than I ever knew
A sweeter rose, a softer sky
On April days that would not dance awayI wished on a stars to throw me a beam or two
I begged of a stars and asked for a dream or two
I looked for every loveliness, it all came true
I wished on the moon, wished on the moon for you
I wished on the moon for you

Coleman Randolph Hawkins (November 21, 1904 – May 19, 1969), nicknamed Hawk and sometimes "Bean", was an American jazz tenor saxophonist. While Hawkins is strongly associated with the swing music and big band era, he had a role in the development of bebop in the 1940s.
Fellow saxophonist Lester Young, known as "Pres", commented in a 1959 interview with The Jazz Review: "As far as I'm concerned, I think Coleman Hawkins was the President first, right? As far as myself, I think I'm the second one." Miles Davis once said: "When I heard Hawk, I learned to play ballads."
