If I Knew Lyrics

If I knew I could count on you
I would love you my whole life through
There is nothing that I would not do
If I knew I could count on youI've been lonely for a long time
I've been looking everywhere
I need someone to believe in
I need someone that will careAnd if I see that your love is true
I will gladly put my faith in you
There is nothing I would rather do
If I see that your love is trueI've been searching for a true love
I've been looking high and low
I've got all this love inside me
And it's good, nowhere to goIf I knew I could count on you
I would love you my whole life through
There is nothing that I would not do
If I knew I could count on youAnd if I see that your love is true
I will gladly put my faith in you
There is nothing I would rather do

If I see that your love is trueIf I knew I could count on you
I would love you my whole life through
There is nothing that I would not do
If I knew I could count on you

A life-long renegade, singer/songwriter David Allan Coe is one of the most colorful and unpredictable characters in country music history. One of the pioneering artists of the outlaw country movement of the '70s, he hasn't had many big hits — only three of his singles hit the Top Ten — but he has been among the biggest cult figures in country music throughout his career. Born in Akron, OH, Coe first got into trouble with the law at age nine. As a result, he was sent to reform school.
