I'll Always Love You Lyrics

Yeah, I had to come back with something
What's on my heart y'all
I mean you like to look at dem girls
In those short shorts, all dat good stuff
But don't let it fool you man
Dem short shorts don't compare
To dat women you got at home man
And you gon' miss her when she's gone
[Incomprehensible]Never miss a good thing till it's gone
I never meant to hurt you girl, I was wrong
I always knew that one day you would move on, wit yo' life
But I guess in the back of my mind
I thought you would come home one more time, ah
I heard it through the grapevine, you got a man
They say he treats you good an’ he makes ya laugh
I'm happy for ya baby and I ain't mad at you
May all your kids do good in school
And may all your dreams you have come true and I will

I'll always love you
(You girl)
I'll always care and girl you gotta know
That I'll always love you
(You girl)
And no matter where you are
Know that my love is never far
A happy women’s worth her weight in gold
Loneliness is good for the soul
Expensive places, lovely faces come and go
'Cause you only find your soul mate once
And if you miss your chance you'll never find it again
I can't complain, I did this to myself
You needed me and I wasn't there to help
It breaks my heart to see you loving someone else
I will give anything I own if I could just have my baby home
I'll always love you
(You girl)
I'll always care and girl you gotta know
That I'll always love you
(You girl)
And no matter where you are
Know that my love is never far
I'll always love you
(You girl)
I'll always care and girl you gotta know
That I'll always love you
(You girl)
And no matter where you are
Know that my love is never far
I'll always love you
I'll always care and girl you gotta know
That I'll always love you
(You girl)
And no matter where you are
Know that my love is never far

Lyfe Jennings (born Chester Jennings in Toledo, Ohio) is an African American R&B and soul singer-songwriter, record producer, and instrumentalist. He plays the guitar, bass, and piano which he integrates into his music.

Jennings began singing at a young age in a Toledo church choir. He later joined a group called The Dotsons with two of his cousins and his older brother, Jay. The group separated in the early 1990s, and Jennings rediscovered music and started a music program at an Ohio prison where he was serving a ten-year sentence on an arson-related charge. He has cited Erykah Badu's 1997 album Baduizm as one of the reasons for his rediscovery. Jennings was released from prison in December 2002 and started to pursue a solo career in music. In January 2003, he performed in Harlem at the Showtime at The Apollo. The same year, he also independently released his first EP, What Is Love. To further pursue his career, Jennings moved to New York City where he performed at rapper Nelly's concert at Radio City Music Hall, at an NAACP convention where he performed an original song called "Thank God for the NAACP", and at the Cafeteria in Chelsea, Manhattan during the blackout on August 14. He signed with Columbia Records and released his debut album Lyfe 268-192 (268-192 was his inmate number) in August 2004. His first single was Stick Up Kid, which didn't see much sucess until after the album was released. The album featured his hit single "Must Be Nice". Jennings' second album The Phoenix was released in August 2006. The first single, "S.E.X.", feautures Jennings' protégé, singer LaLa Brown.
