Instinct To Survive Lyrics

(steve walwyn)Some people talk, some people act
They criticise, but don't react
They wind you up, they put you down
Hold your head up, with your feet on the groundIf you want to keep yourself alive
You'd better use all your instinct to surviveSometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry
We get down low, we get up high
We don't expect, no easy ride
This water's muddy, this water's deep and it's wideIf you want to keep yourself alive
You'd better use all your instinct to survive
Don't it sometimes feel like someone's telling you lies
Winding you up with them false alibis
No use you believing everything that people say
You got to keep on moving, whatever comes your wayAnother day, another year
Another good time, and one more tear
We climb the mountain, we reach the top
We keep on running, and we run 'til we dropIf you want to keep yourself alive
You'd better use all your instinct to survive
If you want to keep yourself alive

You'd better use all your instinct to survive

Dr. Feelgood are a British pub rock band, formed in 1971. The classic line-up included Lee Brilleaux (b. 1953, d. 7 April 1994; vocals/harmonica), Wilko Johnson (b. John Wilkinson, 1947; guitar), John B. Sparks (b. 1953; bass) and John 'The Big Figure' Martin (drums). Initially based in Canvey Island, Essex, on the Thames estuary, Dr. Feelgood broke into the London circuit in 1974. Brilleaux's menacing personality complemented Johnson's propulsive, jerky stage manner, while the guitarist's staccato style dominated the group's idiosyncratic brand of angular rhythm and blues.
