Into the Valley Lyrics

Into the valley
Betrothed and divine
Realisations no virtue
But who can defineWhy soldiers go marching
Those masses a line
This disease is catching
From victory to stoneAhoy! Ahoy! Land, sea and sky
Ahoy! Ahoy! Boy, man and soldier
Ahoy! Ahoy! Deceived and then punctured
Ahoy! Ahoy! Long may they dieOut of concealment
Blank and stark eyed
Why so uncertain
This culture deceivesProphesised, brainwashed
Tomorrow's demise
All systems failing
The placards unrollAhoy! Ahoy! Land, sea and sky
Ahoy! Ahoy! Boy, man and soldier
Ahoy! Ahoy! Deceived and then punctured

Ahoy! Ahoy! Long may they dieTime for the audit
The gathering trial
A collector's dilemma
Repositioned and filed

The Skids were a new wave/pop-punk band formed in Dunfermline, Scotland by Stuart Adamson (on guitars, vocals, keyboards, percussion), Richard Jobson ( vocals, guitar, keyboards), Thomas Kellichan (drums) and William Simpson (bass guitar, vocals) in 1977. They signed to Virgin and issued "Sweet Suburbia" and "The Saints Are Coming" before shooting to popularity with top ten single "Into The Valley", from their first album "Scared to Dance". Both Dunfermline Athletic FC and Charlton Athletic FC use "Into the Valley" as a theme song.
