It Takes Her Away - Templeton Thompson

It Takes Her Away Lyrics

What's the matter with ya, please don't cry
Me and daddy don't mean to fight
It's almost over.
Gotta love that little girl
Carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders
She runs outside, climbs on her chestnut horse
Before too long she won't be cryin' anymore
It takes her away, gives her wings to fly
Opens her heart, and frees her mind
There's no denying; when she's riding
Her every worry disappears
The wind whispers away her tears
From the moment she takes the reins
Oh that sweet saving grace
Yeah, it takes her away

Whoever said life was fair
Either never had to get nowhere,
Or don't know nothing.
She's a woman, not a little girl
Living out in a grown up world
Where it's always something
Yeah, it's so easy to get let down
And hard to find relief
But once she's in the saddle
She can breathe
Oh, it takes her away, gives her wings to fly
Opens her heart, and frees her mind
There's no denying; when she's riding
Her every worry disappears
The wind whispers away her tears
From the moment she takes the reins
Oh that sweet saving grace
Yeah, it takes her away
Away from the madness
Away from the emptiness
Freedom feeds her soul
When she's not sure how much further she can go
It takes her away, gives her wings to fly
Opens her heart, and frees her mind
There's no denying; when she's riding
Her every worry disappears
The wind whispers away her tears
From the moment she takes the reins
Oh that sweet saving grace
Yeah, it takes her away
What's the matter with ya?
Please don't cry
Me and daddy don't mean to fight..
