It's Not Easy Lyrics

You look surprised at the look in my eye
But I've been gone such a long time
Don't blame me if I'm not like you
You know I never wanted to
What led you to this conclusion?
You just created your own illusion
Of lovely clean hair and bright shiny teeth
And every Sunday eating roast beef
But its blue jeans and an old cotton vest
Are you saying that I look a mess?
Who gave you the right to decide?
My life's wrong, your life's right
Oh it's not easy
But I'd do it all again
And I wouldn't change a thing
Had so many laughs

Everywhere I've been
Oh no believe me
Everywhere I roam
I turn into my home
Made so many friends that I'd do it all again
Now is the time to reveal how you feel
We're face to face ready for the kill
When we were kids I said I be the best
I said I'd never follow the rest
You played the rules I played the game
So don't expect us to be the same
You go your way and I'll go mine
Now we've reached the end of the line
Don't look back as you walk away
'cause now I know that you've nothing to say
Oh it's not easy
But I'd do it all again
And I wouldn't change a thing
Had so many laughs
Everywhere I've been
Oh no believe me
Everywhere I roam
I turn into my home
I made so many friends that I'd do it all again
Oh it's not easy
Oh no believe me
Oh it's not easy

At the time 'Rebirth' was recorded back in 1975, Consortium were one of the hardest working groups on the circuit. A popular attraction at the packed London venues of this period, the group consisted of experienced musicians who had been familiar faces on the scene for close on a decade playing with various other bands and recording countless sessions. With the onset of the Punk era the band became disillusioned with the music business and so along with the disappointment of being let down by RCA, the album was shelved.
