It's Not Over, Yet Lyrics

On the bed, lies your pillow
It's been there since you've been gone
And in the closet, your favourite shoes, you used to wearAnd the perfume that I bought you
It still lingers everywhere
Somethin' tells me, it's not over yetOn the night-stand, is your picture
The one I've held, since you've been gone
The same picture you gave to me when we first metIt don't hold me in return
But it says, please don't forget
And it tells me, it's not over yetIt's not over 'til the memories of you
Have all died
'Til the tears from my eyes
Have finally driedIt's not over 'til that phone rings
And I don't reach to talk to you
And hear you tell me, it's not over yetIt's not over 'til that phone rings
And I don't reach to talk to you
And hear you tell me, it's not over yet
And hear you tell me, it's not over yet

Vern Gosdin (August 5, 1934 – April 28, 2009) was a traditional country singer with a strong country voice. Some of his best material were not #1 hits.
As country music swung back toward traditional styles in the 1980s, an inheritor of the soulful honky tonk style of Lefty Frizzell and Merle Haggard rose to the top of the business and notched hit after barroom hit. Sometimes he was known simply as "the Voice." Born in Woodland, AL, Vern Gosdin idolized the Louvin Brothers and the Blue Sky Boys as a young man and sang in a gospel quartet called the Gosdin Brothers.
