I've Known the Garden Lyrics

One of these days the gig is up
Shouldn't we take the time now
To show our loveOne of these days the gig is up
Shouldn't we take the time now
To show our loveYeah, I got the blues again
My mistake
Tell me did you see the end comin'
Now I'm searchin' for a sign
But looking back there're only good timesNow I'm on the road again
My soul aches
It's clear that match won't work for me
And now though things don't seem so hot
I know I gave him all the love I gotBye, bye roses
I got me a hand that's bitter sweet
But I don't care
I've known the garden
But I don't care
I've known the garden

I've known the gardenBye bye roses
I got me a hand that's bitter sweet
But no regrets
I've known the garden
But no regrets
I've known the garden
I've known the gardenOne of these days the gig is up
Shouldn't we take the time now
To show our loveOne of these days the gig is up
Shouldn't we take the time now
To show our loveShe was always my best friend
Never late and coffee ice cream made her smile
Now she's left and gone away
And I'm here by myself another dayAnd though I'll miss her to no end, my heart breaks
Tell me did she see the end comin'
At least I know it was sunny
All the time that she spent with meBye, bye roses
I got me a hand that's bitter sweet
But I don't care
I've known the garden
But I don't care
I've known the garden
I've known the gardenBye bye roses
I got me a hand that's bitter sweet
But no regrets
I've known the garden
But no regrets
I've known the gardenOne of these days the gig is up
Shouldn't we take the time now
To show our loveOne of these days the gig is up
Shouldn't we take the time now
To show our loveOne of these days the gig is up
Shouldn't we take the time
Bye, bye roses
I got me a hand that's bitter sweetBut I don't care
I've known the garden
But I don't care
I've known the garden
To show our love

They say that it’s a long way to the top if you wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll, and that’s an expression singer/songwriter Res knows all too well. 2001 was the year Res changed the game with How I Do, a cross-genre masterpiece that she co-penned with childhood friend Santi White (now known as Santigold). The album yielded four hit singles – the Nas remixed “Ice King”, the Billboard chart-topping “They Say Vision”, “Golden Boys”, and “Sittin’ Back” – and placed Res in a unique albeit coveted position of soulful songstress with a Hip-Hop edge.
