Jim Bakkum (artist name: Jim) auditioned in the first Idols in Holland in 2002. At that time he was only 15 years old. During the show he nearly exitted quite a few times, but made it to the finals. In February 2003 he lost this final to Jamai Loman.

After Idols Jim scored two number one-hits and a gold-selling album. His second album didn't do as well and his third album flopped. Jim's carreer went downhill until he was asked for Dancing with the Stars (aka Strictly Come Dancing). He won in 2005 and that gave his carreer a boost. After that show he played the leading role in several musicals including Grease and Fame.
