James Joyce Soles Lyrics

Here's the pictures and see the airbase
Where we were sent
Now the winter has started to descend
Your loving son was sent hereI got your letter from Boise Idaho
James Joyce Soles, James Joyce Soles
I went down at midnight to the Holy Loch shore
Scattered the ashes of James Joyce SolesHe knew the reasons why we were here
He loved your parcels and all your care
You're so thoughtful, they're so fair
I know my friend thought so, was James Joyce SolesHe's not just a soldier, he's not just a friend
He's been in the wars in a foreign land
He's been on the payphone when it was so cold
He was my comfort, was James Joyce Soles

Deacon Blue is a Scottish pop band formed in Glasgow in 1985. Their name came from the title of the Steely Dan song "Deacon Blues". Success came for the band in 1989 when their second studio album, When The World Knows Your Name, topped the UK Album Charts. The album included "Real Gone Kid" which became their first UK top ten single. After releasing further albums in 1991 and 1993, they split up in 1994. Five years later, in 1999, the band held a reunion gig and this led to the album, Walking Back Home. Since then they have released Homesick (2001) and The Hipsters (2012).
