Jesamine Lyrics

What am I supposed to do
With a girl like Jesamine?
Though my eyes are open wide
She's made my life a dream
When Jesamine goes, a part of me knows
I'm not really living
A butterfly child, so free and so wild
And so full of living
When Jesamine stays
Though time goes fast
This is my world at last
Beautiful days lost in her eyes
But then the whole world dies
When Jesamine goes, a part of me knows
I'm not really living

A butterfly child, so free and so wild
And so full of living
What can you say
When a girl doesn't want to know
She's too far away
And she makes my life a dream
When Jesamine goes, a part of me knows
I'm not really living
A butterfly child, so free and so wild
And so full of living
When Jesamine stays
Though time goes fast
This is my world at last
Beautiful days lost in her eyes
But then the whole world dies
What am I supposed to do, (what can you say)
With a girl like Jesamine? (When a girl doesn't want to know)
Though my eyes are open wide (she's too far away)
And she makes my life a dream
When Jesamine goes, a part of me knows
I'm not really living
When Jesamine goes, a part of me knows

The Casuals, although British, spent several years honing their skills in mainland Europe, particularly Italy, where they based themselves for a while before they returned to Britain in 1967. In 1968, they were successful in Opportunity knocks, a TV talent series. Mary Hopkin was another singer that became famous that year via the same series. Following their success on Opportunity knocks, the Casuals had their first and only major hit, Jesamine, which reached number two on the UK charts, second only to Those were the days, a song performed by Mary Hopkin.
